What's the Story?

Hosted by Holly Robinson Peete and Rodney Peete, the Queens Court spinoff KINGS COURT features three celebrity bachelors searching for a woman to call their "queen." Supermodel Tyson Beckford, former NBA player Carlos Boozer, and WWE Hall of Fame inductee and Global Ambassador Thaddeus Michael Bullard, aka Titus O'Neil, are each looking for someone with whom they can fall in love and build a serious and lasting relationship. Now they have the chance to meet and date 21 singles in hopes of finding connections with some of them. Over elimination dinners, some of the hopefuls are invited to stay, while those who aren't up to royalty status are sent home. Granted, there's always a twist, but at the end of the process Beckford, Boozer, and O'Neil hope that they each walk away with the woman they've been seeking.

The predictable series invites viewers to watch how a trio of once-famous single men participate in a dating experiment in which potential partners compete against each other for their attention. While the mean of Kings Court seem to enjoy each other's company while they talk about the women, it's not the same kind of camaraderie featured in Queens Court. In fact, most of Kings Court's energy comes from the pool of women, whose personalities range from being intelligent and assertive to obnoxiously bold and almost caricature-like. As a result, as smart, beautiful, and successful as they are, many of the women devolve into stereotypes. Nonetheless, folks who like this type of unscripted entertainment will enjoy the chance to watch the romantic moments between some cast members, and the often-uncomfortable and testy eliminations of others.

  • Families can talk about why celebrities look for love on TV dating shows. Does it improve the men's chances of building long-lasting relationships?

  • Why do the women who appear on Kings Court behave so differently than the women on Queens Court?
