Good with caveats

It's positive and pretty, but (the first episode at least) emphasizes beauty and materialism more than we like. There were other minor nits to pick, but overall it's only big flaw was buying into disfunctional aspects of mainstream culture.

Fits the bill

My five-year-old commented "...it's TOTALLY magical"! I agree. We needed non-scary, good messages for young girls and engaging, and Luna meets these criteria so far. There's certainly lots of pink and glitter, but Luna herself is confident, caring and smart (and her friends are encouraging and an essential part of the problem solving processes). These factors go a long way to balancing the princess culture aspects and we have several strong girl characters to boot.

Positive female role

I enjoy this show for my 3 year old. There are a lot of repeated tag lines but overall it teaches team work, building confidence, and problem-solving. I like how the main character is female and is a positive role model as well as the imaginative world of Amazia.

My daughter loves it

With a second season just added to Netflix, we have been watching this show again and it is still great! My daughter is almost 4 and she likes the stories and has lots of positive messages for us to discuss afterwards!
