Make My Day
Parent and Kid Reviews
What's the Story?
MAKE MY DAY centers on an isolated prison planet covered in ice and snow. Prisoners are forced to excavate a rare energy source from mines to reduce their sentence. When mysterious and deadly creatures appear from deep beneath the mines and begin attacking the human colonies, prison guard Jim (voiced by Zeno Robinson in the English dub) leads a small group of survivors in an effort to escape the doomed planet.
Is It Any Good?
This mediocre sci-fi horror anime suffers from its confusing and chaotic story. The Make My Day plot is predictable, the dialogue is bad, and there are many illogical plot holes that contradict previous episodes. The most glaring is the monstrous alien swarm that serves as the antagonist in the series; how they operate and how they're killed seems to change from scene to scene. Previous rules and statements in the anime are forgotten as soon as it's convenient for the main characters, making the series feel sloppy and confused. That said, some anime fans will find Make My Day has enough action to deliver satisfying battle scenes.
