Marvel's Iron Man and His Awesome Friends
Parent and Kid Reviews
What's the Story?
In MARVEL'S IRON MAN AND HIS AWESOME FRIENDS, Tony Stark (Mason Blomberg) is a kid superhero who loves inventing gadgets and transforms into Iron Man with super armor. He works together with his friends Riri aka Ironheart (Kapri Ladd) and Amadeus aka Iron Hulk (Aidyn Ahn). The Iron Friends armor up to defeat various villains like Ultron (Tony Hale), Swarm (Vanessa Bayer), and Absorbing Man (Talon Warburton). The villains' crimes are preschooler-friendly, like Ultron's plot to steal kids' toys. The Iron Friends make a lot of mistakes while trying to thwart the villains, and they have to keep trying until they find a solution. When they've saved the day, Tony, Riri and Amadeus love playing together and being regular, non-super friends.
Is It Any Good?
Marvel's Iron Man and His Awesome Friends takes a very similar page from the Spidey and His Amazing Friends playbook. It's got positive messages and good role models, and makes the villains and action pre-school appropriate. That said, it feels more formulaic than inspired. Kids who are into superheroes won't mind, but adults may want to direct preschoolers' attention elsewhere.
