What's the Story?

Molly of Denali leaves Alaska for the first time in MOLLY'S EPIC ADVENTURES. Schada'a is doing a documentary on Indigenous Ways of Knowing Volcanoes, and Molly joins him as they travel across the United States. They meet five communities living in reservations in New Jersey, New Mexico, Idaho, Oregon and Hawaii. Along the way, Molly makes new friends, rides in hot air balloons, canoes and enjoys learning and celebrating different cultural practices.

Just like the original series, this special does a superb job of honoring traditional heritage with modern lifestyle, creating stories that are informative and engaging. For fans of the original PBS series, Molly's Epic Adventure feels just like a regular episode of Molly of Denali in terms of style, pacing, and celebration of culture. The twist is that Molly gets to explore new places and cultures, taking the audience along for the ride. For those meeting Molly for the first time, this special provides all the background you need to enjoy it and become a fan of the original series as well.
