Moonflower Murders
Parent and Kid Reviews
What's the Story?
The MOONFLOWER MURDERS happened over eight years ago at the Moonflower Hotel. Evidence and clues led to a swift arrest and closing of the case ... at least that's how it seemed. But when retired editor Susan Ryeland (Lesley Manville) is approached by a couple, they claim that a murder at their daughter's wedding is connected to the Moonflower Murders book she co-wrote years ago. When their other daughter suddenly goes missing, she leaves behind a clue that the real murderer from the hotel is in the book. Never too far from a mystery, Susan heads back to London to solve the case with fictional detective Atticus Pünd (Tim McMullan) by her side (and in her mind.)
Is It Any Good?
This series turns a cold case mystery into a comforting and casual watch. Moonflower Murders is clever, cozy, and full of unique characters. It has a story within a story format, so it has more of a slower pace than a typical murder mystery. It's easy to watch, and fans of the series or the novels might find this enjoyable. Despite the violence, drinking, and smoking, this is suitable for most teens.
