What's the Story?
MY PET AND ME is a British kid's series that shows how much fun and responsibility it is to have a pet. Hosts Ferne Corrigan and Rory Crawford take turns visiting different family's homes to meet their pets. After sharing some information about the species, the hosts get to play with the animal. They also help the young owner take care of it. From Felix, a cat that lives at a local train station, to Pixie, Mo, and Simone, a trio of spiny stick insects, it showcases the different kinds of pets kids have, and the work they do to take care of them.
Is It Any Good?
This entertaining series is designed to help children understand the realities of pet ownership. It highlights the fact that having a pet can be lots of fun, but reveals, in some detail, the work that goes into making sure the animal is safe, happy, and healthy. It also shows the various kinds of care that different animals require, and reminds children about the importance of maintaining basic personal hygiene after handling them.
These lessons are presented with the help of real kids, making it very easy for young viewers to understand. The hosts also underscore key points in upbeat ways. My Pet And Me serves as a great starting point for talking about pet ownership with your family, and to remind them that no matter how cute and cuddly the animal is, it will require a lot of work, commitment, and love.
