What's the Story?

In 1857, the secret NAUTILUS submarine is being built off the coast of Bombay. Captain Nemo (Shazad Latif), captured by the East India Mercantile Company, is forced to help with the submarine's construction. Meanwhile, a ship carrying Humility (Georgia Flood) travels to be delivered to a man she is begrudgingly marrying on her parents' orders. But when the opportunity rises, Nemo and his crew steal the submarine and head off into the sea. Running into Humility, Nemo takes her and her crew hostage and set off to find treasure. Haunted by the past and fueled by vengeance, will Nemo lose himself under the sea?

This series explores the dark origins of a cultural hero and the odyssey that started it all. Nautilus has impressive visuals and complex action. It fumbles its way through humor sometimes, but promising cast members like Latif make the journey intriguing to watch. Fans of the novel or the action/sci-fi genre are likeliest to enjoy this. Despite the violence and light language, this series is a suitable watch for families and their teens.
