What's the Story?

In NEIGHBOURS: A NEW CHAPTER, families on Ramsay Street are getting ready to celebrate a wedding. The Lassiters Worldwide Hotel is being decorated fastidiously, and a bride (Rebekah Elmaloglou) sighs wistfully as she readies herself for the big day. But things may not be exactly as they seem when she walks down the aisle; her new beginning takes the neighborhood by surprise. Meanwhile, a mysterious American woman (Mischa Barton, The O.C.) is enriching her stay in the hotel by having an affair with an employee there. Will harmony endure for the neighbors on Ramsay Street, or will betrayal and squabbling take over?

A disjointed, haphazard effort may sadden fans of the beloved long-running Australian soap. New viewers won't be able to make heads or tales of Neighbours: A New Chapter, as members of the sprawling cast are only allowed seconds to share a line or two. Plot arcs are chopped into bits, though the actors try valiantly to right the ship.

Thousands of episodes precede the restart of this show, which is where the best moments may lie. Unless they are diehard fans, families might want to look for catchy fare elsewhere.
