Parent and Kid Reviews
What's the Story?
In NUGGET IS DEAD? A CHRISTMAS STORY, medical student Steph Stool (Vic Zerbst, Thor: Love and Thunder) is getting ready to spend Christmas with her posh boyfriend's family in Sydney, Australia. There will be extensive games, outfit changes, and high-end food. But when she gets a call from her family that the family dog, Nugget, is feeling ill, she packs up to visit them in a town a few hours South of Sydney. Though she plans to return to Sydney for the festivities, she finds herself wrapped up in family drama far from where she wants to be. How will Christmas play out for her? Will her relationship survive?
Is It Any Good?
Family drama runs the paces in this Australian Christmas comedy that picks up some speed at the end. Nugget Is Dead? looks for comic spark in family chaos, but wires are so tangled it's hard to know who crossed whom. Though an exotic trip "down under," where Christmastime is in the middle of summertime, this special loses focus until the last twenty minutes when disparate families collide.
