Overcompensating
What's the Story?
According to his sister, college freshman Benny (Benito Skinner) hasn't made a decision of his own…ever. He's a business major thanks to his dad, is going to his parents' choice of college, and definitely hasn't connected with the guys he dreams about. In fact, every moment of Benny's life is spent OVERCOMPENSATING, from creating the perfect high five, presenting as an average straight football player, crafting the perfect text, and of course, excelling at beer pong. His charade becomes even more exhausting at school, where new friend Carmen (Wally Baram) might be expecting more, and a handsome acquaintance (Rish Shah) sends flirty vibes. Will Benny finally break out and make some challenging choices?
Is It Any Good?
This filthy, fresh, and surprisingly warm series is a real treat from social media star Benito Skinner (aka Benny Drama). Overcompensating certainly has its share of dirty jokes, uncomfortable sexual situations, and awkward moments, but at its heart lies the virtue of true friendship and the freedom of discovering who you really are. Skinner and Baram shine, embodying characters much younger than they are, and the series skewers campus life in an unfiltered and truly hilarious manner.
