What's the Story?

PARIS HAS FALLEN follows French protection officer Vincent (Tewfik Jallab) and MI6 operative Zara (Ritu Arya) as they race to prevent an attack at the British Embassy in Paris. The attack is led by Jacob (Sean Harris), a former French Foreign Legion officer. He seeks revenge against government officials who he thinks betrayed him. Chaos and violence ensue, and Vincent and Zara start to uncover deeper dangers that threaten Paris as a whole. Together, they must navigate a city under siege, political intrigues and conspiracies, and their personal challenges to prevent the worst-case scenario.

Shot with dazzling yet assured camera movements, the action thriller makes for engaging entertainment. Set in the Has Fallen universe that already has a large fan base, Paris Has Fallen still stands out with its kinetic storytelling, gripping parallel action, and potent scores. The lead dynamic duo, convincingly played by Jallab and Arya, anchor this fast-paced story filled with unrelenting violence and anxiety-inducing peril that will excite older thriller fans. But it might not be suitable for younger audiences.

Harris delivers a breathtakingly menacing performance of the antagonist, adding complexity and depth to the familiar plot. Despite his impressive screen presence, the show eventually lacks originality and relies on genre formulas. Though it's worth watching for the high-quality production, audiences won't walk away feeling they've witnessed anything groundbreaking.
