What's the Story?

Narrated by Alan Cumming, PARIS & NICOLE: THE ENCORE is a three-part reunion special starring Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie celebrating their friendship in larger-than-life ways. To celebrate the 20-year anniversary of their popular series The Simple Life (2003–2007), the BFFs decide to return to their reality show roots and revisit what made them popular culture icons. They return to Altus, Arkansas, where they spent the first season of their series, to reminisce with some of the locals. They've also decided to produce an epic opera based on their catchphrase "sanasa" to tell the story about the challenges their friendship has overcome over the years. Their plans don't always go as expected, but Paris and Nicole are intent on working together.

This lighthearted reunion show celebrates the friendship between reality icons Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie while recognizing the contributions they've made to U.S. popular culture. It features the older and (sometimes questionably) wiser BFFs as the constant centers of attention, regardless of whether they're meeting up with people they worked with while on The Simple Life or putting new zany plans into action. While they reminisce about their antics, they also seem a little less shallow, and even go as far as apologizing for some of their actions 20 years ago. Nonetheless, their new projects don't stop them from referencing some of their more memorable Simple Life moments and repeating their infamous catchphrases, "that's hot" and, of course, "sanasa." Ultimately, Paris & Nicole: The Encore is as over-the-top silly as you would expect it to be, which is why their fans will enjoy it.
