Pinkfong Car Mechanic
Parent and Kid Reviews
What's the Story?
In PINKFONG CAR MECHANIC, a fox mechanic Pinkfong and his assistant work to repair a variety of broken vehicles, from ambulances to police cars. Each episode centers around diagnosing and fixing vehicle issues through simple puzzles, questions, and visual choices aimed at preschool-aged viewers.
Is It Any Good?
The educational value of teaching kids how to solve simple problems in an interactive way is solid, but the storytelling in this show is uneven. The simple problem is that some episodes of Pinkfong Car Mechanic feature inappropriate themes for the target age group. One episode, for example, shows zombies biting characters and an ambulance eventually flinging unnamed pills into the street to subside (maybe kill) them. This mismatch between the age appropriateness of the lessons and the content level leaves the series with no real audience. Parents seeking an educational and entertaining watch for their kids should look for a better match.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about how you can help others when when they have a problem or something breaks. When's the last time you can think of that you helped a friend?
Children this age have a hard time learning social lessons from stories. Comment positively on the behaviors that you like, point out the positive lesson, and relate it to an example from their life.
