Quack Pack
What's the Story?
QUACK PACK is a 1996 iteration of Duck Tales, featuring Donald Duck and his three teenage nephews, Huey, Dewey and Louie.
Is It Any Good?
Following the typical style of 1990s cartoons, the show often relies on negative behavior for comedic effect. Quack Pack features name-calling, hitting, and rudeness. Instead of standard plot lines, the series is filled with wacky twists and turns, maintaining a playful tone throughout. While largely harmless, parents should take note of the use of dated gender roles and the marginalization of female characters. For those who love these characters, any version of DuckTales is a better choice.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about the violence in Quack Pack. Does it feel real? Does this make it easier to watch? Why do you think cartoons from the 1990s had more casual violence than today's cartoons?
Point out and talk about the stereotypical gender roles present in the show. Are those types of depictions as common today? Why do you think that is?
