Real Time with Bill Maher

First off, I love this show. Bill Maher is a very intelligent, thoughtful, funny person. That being said, he is also a cynical jerk most of the time. He is very profane, EXTREMELY critical of religion/open about his atheism, often makes crude sexual references, and he is open about his frequent marijuana use, the last of which I still strongly object to. I recommend this show to mature teens and up because while smart, informative, and funny, he should not be viewed as a role model. Anyone who watches this, especially a teen, should know that. The other reason is that it gets really complicated sometimes. He delves into the deepest, darkest, most confusing parts of politics, and a lot of the content would probably go over younger viewers' heads. It is a great show, and I recommend that adults watch it, but their kids should only watch it if they understand that Maher is not someone you aspire to be.

This is one of my favourite comedy show (the daily show is the other one). Really, most 13 year olds can handle this. And there are positive messages, by the way. People sure should question authority when it's doing a bad job. That is not a bad thing. He doesn't encourage violence and overall the message is good.
