Funny, incredible show!

Funny show that's amazing for the whole family has one or two sexy scenes, but as long as your child is mature, the TV show is awesome!

Bright, colourful musical is definitely NOT for children

Schmigadoon! is a hugely entertaining show. The songs are great, the production is on point and the jokes are funny. However, on that last point, these jokes are not appropriate for anyone under the age of 12 (as Apple's own rating suggests). While the first episode is limited to mild content, like implied sex, kissing and romantic relationships, it gets drastically more explicit in the second episode, with a character licking cream off a pie & holding melons and a salami sausage in a VERY suggestive manner. Things only get more intense from there, as the implied sex becomes more implied, depictions of figurines in sexual positions are shown and characters make notes about having sex. By the time we reach the third episode, the rating has jumped up from PG to M (which it should've been the entire way). A sex-ed song titled "Va-Gi-Na" is played, a character says the s-word, another song mentions a "horny" Swede who "watches servant porn", the two main characters are both held at gunpoint (seperately) and the parents of a character ask to borrow lubricant, stating that they are "feeling amorous". I won't even touch on the characterisation of Christians, Black people or how women are portrayed (this is a parody of 1940s musicals, after all). Overall, this should be confined to ages 14 and up, just missing out on MA15+ rating due to the relative absence of actual swear words. However, the things that replace them are arguably even more explicit and may not be something you want to show to any teen who hasn't gone through puberty yet. For anyone who can handle this sort of content, you're left with an incredibly fun 20-minute ride through song and dance.

Absolutely loved it

Outstanding, unique show! Other than a few cuss words here and there (and mild talk of sex) it's completely child appropriate. I could show this to most 12 or even 11 year old and I think they'd be really into it. Great story line and lovable characters.

Mentally, I'm in Schmigadoon

This show got me through 2021. Even though it got canceled, we should all be happy that it exists. Schmigadoon is a must-watch for musical theatre nerds, as the entire show is a parody (and love letter) to the different eras of musicals. This show is campy and hilarious. The songs are amazing. and I love how they merge different musicals and character types, like Ms. Cladwell being a perfect mix of Mrs. Lovett from Sweeney Todd and Ms. Hannigan from Annie. Cecily Strong and Keegan Michael Key as the leads? MMM yes Perfect casting. The rest of the cast is incredible too. Emma Tate and Danny Bailey had me in a chokehold. This is what happens when you cast actual theatre people in a cinematic musical. It's not that hard. I think the first season is suitable for tweens. There aren't too many cuss words or sexual content. S2 gets slightly sexier and covers a darker-themed era. Also, it's colorblind casting that there's some gay rep in S1 with Mayor Menlove. Did I mention how fun the songs and musical numbers are?

1st season is boring 2nd season is good only watch if you either support homosexuality or don’t care about homosexuality

I watched this by myself because my mom doesn’t like musicals. The second season is better than the first. The first season was boring. There is a part where the female lead sings a song to to people about having sex for the first time and how it works and how to do it safely. Also the mayor comes out as gay. In the second season Jaime Cavill’s character wants to perform at the club and when he gets to he dresses up as a woman. They never said he was transgender. If you aren’t comfortable with homosexuality don’t watch. If you don’t care about homosexuality then watch it cuz you don’t care if people are gay or not so it won’t bother you.

A young pre-teen can watch

There is some swearing in the show, but the F word is not used. There are a couple sexual innuendoes that I had to search up online, but they are tame.
