What's the Story?

SCRABBLE is a game show featuring wordsmiths playing the popular board game with the help of a giant digital screen for a chance to win $10K. Hosted by Raven-Symoné, it has two contestants face off in two separate rounds. The first one requires them, with the help of given clues, to alternately unscramble letters and correctly "fill in" a row of intersecting blank tiles on the board within a limited time. The second round is more like the conventional Scrabble game; contestants spell a word from a rack of letter tiles and strategically "place" them on the digital board. Throughout both rounds, points are earned based on the Scrabble value for each letter of the words players come up with, and where they line up on the board. The contestant that earns the most points gets to play the final round for a chance to win the cash prize.

This latest TV incarnation of the popular board game offers some easygoing game show fun as contestants stretching their spelling and vocabulary muscles for a chance to win money. Folks who like the game will easily get immersed in it, especially since it's easy to see the tiles that the contestants are working with. Those who don't play it regularly might simply enjoy sorting out the scrambled letters. It's not the most fast-paced competition, but Scrabble still spells out f-a-m-i-l-y f-u-n.
