What's the Story?

SEX: UNZIPPED features a panel of comedians, a crew of non-binary puppets, and the venerable Dr. Ruth exploring the many complicated nuances of sex, dating, and sexual relationships. Hosted by Saweetie, the comedy special uses both sketch comedy and expert interviews to provide viewers with personal anecdotes and practical tips on how to find, cultivate, and maintain a healthy sexual relationship.

Is It Any Good?

Our review:

One lesser-known rule of comedy is that once puppets get involved, the jokes basically write themselves. To Sex: Unzipped's credit, the comedy series could have just done a few raunchy sketches with its sex-positive puppet posse and called it a day. Instead, it's essentially a variety show that is sincere in its efforts to promote healthy sexual relationships, inclusiveness, self-realization, and safe sex. Not every joke or anecdote lands, but Sex: Unzipped packs its edutainment with a lot of practical advice that many viewers need to hear (and, in some segments, see).
