What's the Story?

Matt (Tim Allen) and Riley (Kat Dennings) are SHIFTING GEARS. While Matt runs a car shop and struggles to process his wife's death, his estranged daughter Riley suddenly pulls into the garage. She's recently divorced her husband and is restarting life with her two kids in tow. With no money and no assets, she begrudgingly turns to her dad for help, and he begrudgingly lets her stay. Will the relationship between the two get a jump start, or is it beyond repair?

Is It Any Good?

Our review:
Parents say : Not yet rated
Kids say : Not yet rated

This series sets off on a sputtering start and struggles to find its pace through jokes, current events, and heart-warming moments. Allen and Denning's chemistry as father and daughter in Shifting Gears has potential, but it's overall static (in the love and hate department). Despite the language and suggestive humor, this series is suitable for most viewers.
