What's the Story?
SKYMED follows a group of air paramedics and pilots as they save lives in the Canadian bush while dealing with their own interpersonal issues and challenges.
Is It Any Good?
Skymed is another take on the tried-and-true procedural, this time, though, the drama takes place in the air. But that's not the only high point (no pun intended) of this series; the cast embraces multiculturalism and commentary on race and class, particularly when it comes to the First Nations who depend on the Skymed crew as they live on the land, opposed to people from the city, who are seen as people who might look down on First Nations members.
The series has enough interpresonal drama that might make fans of other juicy procedurals like Grey's Anatomy happy, but sometimes the development seems to come out of nowhere. Regardless, Skymed is a fun show to watch when you are in the mood to binge a series in which the good guys save the day amid fascinating drama and inspiring landscapes.
