What's the Story?

SMALL & MIGHTY is a Taiwanese dramedy centered on an arrogant, money-hungry lawyer, Liu Lang (Chen Bo Lin), who has his life turned upside down by an earnest but inexperienced lawyer, Lin Xiao-Yan(Puff Kuo), and the unexpected arrival of a young boy claiming to be his son. As Liu Lang comes to terms with his new reality, his priorities and attitude both begin to change.

A troubling sexist tone in which women are either incompetent or ruled by their emotions underlines this Taiwanese series. Small & Mighty is a show that doesn't understand its time or place. It shifts disjointedly between being a serious legal drama and a kooky comedy, with its male lead channeling Saved By the Bell's Zack Morris as he sporadically breaks the 4th wall to speak directly to the camera. In fact, the antics of both Lin Xiao-Yan and Liu Lang are over-the-top from the beginning. It doesn't take long for them to wear thin, and the agonizingly predictable plot is the final nail in the coffin for this forgettable show.
