Not all jokes are funny in this middle-grade musical show, but some clever ones the hope alive. In Snow Day, kids are wishing for the magic of a day off of school, when sledding and sipping hot chocolate trumps homework and tests.

Viewers might wonder whether the theme of having a snow day is deserving of a full-length musical movie, but as soon as that thought enters the head, a fun dance number distracts, and some clever songs can elicit a smile. Plus, Hal's bestie, Lane (Fabi Aguirre), is a notable actor, who brings a ton of energy and smarts to this show. No, it's not a sophisticated show, but it's fun, light entertainment for tweens and parents to enjoy together.
