What's the Story?

SOFIA THE FIRST: ROYAL MAGIC picks up where Sofia the First left off. Princess Sofia (Ariel Winter) has graduated from Royal Prep school. With her newly-discovered magical powers, she heads to the Charmswell School for Royal Magic to learn how to use her magic. Sofia wears an amulet that gives her magical powers like being able to communicate with animals, and she learns that the more she wears the amulet, the stronger her magic will become. Sofia is placed in a castle (aka dorm) with fellow magic royals Zane of Gloomshire (Kai Harris), Layla (Mela Pietropalo), and Camila (Aaliyah Magcasi). A magical "puppercorn" Pepper (Nate Torrence) joins their crew. Various members of the Council of Princesses, like Rapunzel, Moana, Jazmine, Cinderella, and more, visit Charmswell to advise Sofia. Can Sofia learn to harness her growing magical powers so she can save the day in the EverRealm?

Is It Any Good?

Our review:
Parents say : Not yet rated
Kids say ( 1 ):

Preschoolers who love princesses and princes will be enchanted by Sofia the First: Royal Magic. Sofia's world is irresistible—fancy royal outfits, fantasy creatures, and magical powers—with cameos by grown-up Disney princesses to boot. Behind all the royal glitz, Sofia and friends are positive role models who demonstrate social-emotional skills in relatable preschooler ways. Catchy pop songs may inspire kids to sing along with the characters. Sofia the First is less educational than some series, but it's a fantasy escape for preschoolers that grown-ups can feel good about.
