Parent and Kid Reviews
What's the Story?
In an alternate version of Meiji-era Kyoto, steam power has shaped the world instead of electricity. SPARKS OF TOMORROW follows Kihachi Sakamoto (voiced in English by Hunter McCoy), a young inventor who dreams of finishing the work his late brother began to bring electricity to the world. After meeting the kind and optimistic Inako Momokawa (Audrey Hsieh), the two set out to uncover the secrets of a missing electrical catalog that could change the future.
Is It Any Good?
This show's charming first episode builds an imaginative world and likable characters. Sparks of Tomorrow combines beautiful animation with an alternate-history setting and a hopeful story about invention, loss, and chasing impossible dreams. While many mysteries are still unfolding, the premiere does a good job introducing its world and leaves viewers wanting to see what happens next.
