fun witty sitcom not for younger kids tho

i personally love this show! it’s a mix between full house and, though not as raunchy, married with children. it has good humor at times and is family friendly the first couple seasons. towards the end of the series the humor gets more mature. of course the show is revolving around the life of a couple and their blended family, so there is some sex related stuff. the married couple kisses and there is, uh, some bedtime stuff not for young kids. but no nudity and it’s not explicit or anything so don’t worry too much. another review says it’s very sexist but it’s not that bad. overall great show for a family trying to sit down and find something to watch.

sexist

Way to much sexism! The dad says that the Mom has to look good, but he says that he doesn't have to look good. The dad usually says something like that multiple times an episode. The episodes plot usually imply lots of sexist stereotypes. Like in one episode one of the kids named Mark and his girl friend get into a fight after Mark's girl friend asks him to throw away a magazine full of girls in bikinis. In the end she says that he can read whatever he wants. And whenever a the mom or dad gets gifts in the episode there's usually a bikini for the mom. Once during the dad's birthday the mom gets him a bikini for his birthday!

Pretty good tv show, overall.

It has realistic characters and some pretty good morals. Definetly not for young children, though.

Good Show

Despite what others may say this show is actually good. You may think it is a Full House ripoff but it is not, ABC shows always feel the same. The characters are good, the stories can be good when given great time, and it teaches lessons throughout and through.

Good Show For Families

This show might not teach lessons as much as Full House but it is still good in story. The characters are good and the humor is not that bad either ( although I don`t laugh at it.) Families looking for a show to watch should give this one a try. Some of the jokes may go over kids heads though. Great intro theme as well.

boring show

Outdated now. I watch it when bored as it shows me that there are worse things than severe stomach pain. Some of it is so funny as it is stupid.

Humor, wit, positive messages, but not for younger children.

Step by Step has very rare qualities. Part of the original TGIF lineup, it contains a bit of everything. The early seasons mix family friendly humor with good morals, making it a perfect show for all families. Later seasons the show descends into more crass humor, as if it was attempting to cash in on the success and demise of Married with Children. (Only not quite that bad) The morals remain, but it no longer becomes appropriate for the tweens and under crowd. It even adds adult eye candy in the form of Dallas veteran Patrick Duffy, and Three's Company veteran Suzanne Somers. All in all, a funny and well-meaning show. Just keep an eye on who is viewing it.
