Tahir's House
Parent and Kid Reviews
What's the Story?
Tahir's House tells the story of a young entrepreneur who takes over his family's flailing fish shop and hatches a scheme to turn it into a sort of apothecary. Tahir ropes his family into his plan and gets himself, his father, his sister, and his grandmother into a deeper mess than he ever could have imagined.
Is It Any Good?
This Saudi show is part workplace comedy, part family comedy, with a get rich quick scheme thrown in, but the comedy doesn't come across the way it might in its native language or culture. Tahir's House has some familiar elements but some don't land, especially the plotline about an illegal aphrodisiac and the dialogue about sex and marriage that accompanies it.
