What's the Story?

In TASK, a string of robberies targeting drug houses catches the attention of the FBI. Agent Tom Brandis (Mark Ruffalo) is assigned a task force to end these break-ins and prevent a gang war. Brandis begrudgingly leads the group of slightly unqualified agents, spending his free time struggling to connect with his daughter and drinking himself to sleep in a tense household. Blue collar family man Robbie (Tom Pelphrey) is the one leading these robberies. After the death of brother and his wife taking off, these hits are the only thing keeping a roof over the heads of his kids and niece. But when the house robbery of a biker gang member turns deadly, the robbery task force turns into something more than what Robbie or Brandis bargained for.

This series takes a nuanced and complex approach to the bloody life of crime. Task has an intriguing story and interesting character dynamics that are stellar performances from a strong cast enhance. It's easy for crime dramas to get lost in guns, murder, and mayhem, but this series allows the story, characters, and emotions to breathe throughout the narrative. The language, violence, sexual content, smoking, and drinking make this suitable for older teens.
