What's the Story?

In TAYLOR SWIFT: THE END OF AN ERA, musician and icon Taylor Swift is huddling with her dancers and musicians before the final show on her Eras tour. She tells them that they have performed in front of 10 million people in the past several months. As they hold each other in a group embrace, Swift goes on to say that she envisions their younger selves, the children who awoke with the dream that they are now realizing. They didn't let people tell them they wouldn't be able to manifest their visions; they kept pursuing their passions. And now that they're at the top of their game, they have the opportunity to mentor and influence a new generation of kids who have dreams. Tears stream down the performers' faces. They nod and bow their heads as a team. Then they go on stage.

Is It Any Good?

Our review:

Momentum, vision, perseverance, and professionalism all characterize the leveling up documented in this excellent series. After a grueling show into which she adds a duet with musician Ed Sheeran, Swift draws a bath, wipes off her makeup and slips off her false eyelashes. "I don't do drugs," she says, explaining that coming down from the adrenaline rush takes hours. "I watch tons of TV, I order room service in bed, I sign two thousand CD's and then...we do the whole thing again."

Taylor Swift: The End of an Era is simultaneously cozy, intimate, and hugely inspirational. Even newbies to Swift's enormous talent will be taken aback by the ability she has to bring her outsized artistic vision to millions of fans. Some swearing might keep youngest viewers out of the room, but there's much more to gain than to lose in this breathtaking show.
