What's the Story?

TEEN MOM: THE NEXT CHAPTER features cast members from the Teen Mom franchise as they continue their journey as adult parents. Jade, Briana, Ashley, Amber, Catelynn, Maci, Leah, and Cheyenne are all living their own lives, and are dealing with the day-to-day highs and lows of being moms, wives, partners, daughters, and responsible adults. Some of them are turning their lives around after living in turmoil, while others are coping with new and unexpected challenges. Nonetheless, the eight women know that they are bonded by the fact that they were once teenage mothers on TV and find ways to come together, including interacting on a group chat to keep up with each other's news. A few still don't get along, but the hope is that they work out their differences and be supportive members of this mom group.

The voyeuristic unscripted series features cast members from Teen Mom 2 and Teen Mom OG who are now older and settled into parenthood in different ways. As they raise multiple children, work on their relationships with their husbands, partners, and ex-partners, they do so as adults who've had to overcome various challenges (many of which have played on out on TV). Despite being older, some of the cast members don't seem much wiser, which leads to bad-mouthing and a few tense encounters. Meanwhile, some of the moms are negotiating very difficult real-life issues behind the cameras, all of which underscore how hard it can be to be an adult. But all of this is packaged as entertainment, and offers few clear life lessons. Only fans of the franchise will find it worth checking out; Teen Mom: The Next Chapter doesn't offer anything constructive or worthwhile.
