Teletubbies (2022)
What's the Story?
Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa Laa, and Po are all back in another reboot of TELETUBBIES. The colorful, cuddly foursome is still characterized by their fun-loving, explorative, and imaginative nature. The Teletubbies enjoy active play, such as hopping, rolling, running, and jumping around. Once the silliness is done, they use their touchscreen TV bellies to activate "Tummy Tales," where they watch videos of real children engaging in everyday activities. Sing-alongs are typically featured in these segments. The Teletubbies recreate activities they see outside, either on their bright hillside or in their magical clubhouse. Their actions are narrated by Tituss Burgess. Every day they wake up to the sun (with a different baby face in the center) and go to sleep as it sets.
Is It Any Good?
This show has retained its classic elements of simplicity, repetition, and small adventures. What the newest version of Teletubbies has that others have lacked is diversity. The Sun Baby changes each day and the live-action shots showcase diverse children from around the world. The pacing of the show doesn't make for a fun viewing experience for adults, but children three and under are likely to enjoy.
