Tempest
What's the Story?
In TEMPEST, tensions between the United States and North Korea are reaching a boiling point. A former U.N. ambassador, Seo Mun-ju (Jun ji-hyun), finds herself sacrificing her political career for the sake of her ambitious husband. He has designs on the presidency. Can they help bring peace to the world? Or will violence prevail?
Is It Any Good?
Don't dare look away from this provocative, timely thriller. Tempest hits hard and fast, and does not relent. Fans of spy nail-biters and twisty K-dramas will find lots to love here: symbolism, political intrigue, and excellent acting.
Though this show begins with an assassination, its nets are cast wide to include family drama, as well as drama between nations. A great pick for fans of intellectual spy thrillers.
