What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that The Apollo Moon Landings is a short documentary about the first U.S. mission to reach the moon. It focuses on the motivations behind the voyage, the scientific process leading up to the launch, and the astronauts' voyage to and from the moon. It works as a brief introduction to the moon landings, without going too in depth into any aspect of the history or science. Positive messages about teamwork, self-sacrifice, and scientific exploration. Some archival photos and video show people smoking or drinking alcohol.

What's the Story?
THE APOLLO MOON LANDINGS recalls the events that led up to Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin setting foot on the moon in 1969. Through interviews and archival footage, the documentary walks step by step through the space race and the astronauts' experience in space. It tells the story of a unique point in American history, and the innovation and achievement that brought the country there.
Is It Any Good?
Even 50-plus years after Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walked on the moon, the idea of space travel is still a romantic one. The Apollo Moon Landings provides an introduction to the culture, politics, and science that led to America's expedition into space. The story of the Apollo 11 flight is fascinating, of course, but the documentary itself adds little to the story that is already familiar to many. There are plenty of other documentaries that go further in depth or provide a unique perspective, from 2019's Apollo 11 to 1989's For All Mankind.
