What's the Story?
THE BOND takes an up-close look at the unique bond between animals and humans and spotlight these relationships around the world.
Is It Any Good?
With a compact, four-episode season, this nature docuseries explores stories of human and animal connection that range from silly to extraordinary. The first, and most remarkable, episode of The Bond centers on Kanku, the kangaroo who inexplicably bonded with an Australian conservationist and heroically saved many fellow kangaroos from the historic 2019 bush fires. It's a heartwarming and gripping tale that sets high expectations for the rest of the season, which is precisely why the episode centering on a goat traveling the U.S. with two empty nesters, in their camping trailer, seems trite in comparison. True animal lovers will likely devour this micro-series in its entirety, but others may come away disappointed that the rest of the series couldn't measure up to the stunning first episode.
