The Carbonaro Effect: Inside Carbonaro
Parent and Kid Reviews
What's the Story?
THE CARBONARO EFFECT: INSIDE CARBONARO stars popular illusionist Michael Carbonaro as he reveals the inside scoop on some of his best episodes. It features scenes from previous episodes of The Carbonaro Effect, as well moments that never made it to air until now. Throughout it all, the magician -- and behind-the-scenes details about what was happening -- pop up for the audience to enjoy.
Is It Any Good?
This lighthearted spin-off combines previously aired scenes from Michael Carbonaro's popular series, as well as recorded scenes and unexpected moments that never made it to air. But in a style reminiscent of Pop Up Video, information about behind-the-scenes snafus, devices used to perform illusions, and even surprise guests sitting in as "extras" are featured in digital yellow sticky notes that appear on the left-hand side of the screen. Carbonaro also pops up in a similar fashion, usually to introduce scenes from a different segment.
Thanks to Carbonaro's performance style, and the reactions of many of the people he engages with, there are a lot of fun moments. And, of course, the illusions are impressive. Meanwhile, the details it offers about the production of the show and its cast are interesting. But if you're looking to find out exactly how the magician conducts his tricks, you won't find it here. Nonetheless, The Carbonaro Effect: Inside Carbonaro offers lots of entertaining moments, even if magic isn't really your thing.
