What's the Story?

THE CELEBRITY DATING GAME, a contemporary reboot of the classic series The Dating Game, is a game show featuring single celebrities vying for love. Each episode, which is hosted by Zooey Deschanel and Michael Bolton, consists of two back-to-back installments featuring a celebrity interviewing a panel of eligible bachelors or bachelorettes. The catch? Neither side knows who they're speaking to. After several rounds of questions designed to discover more about each of the contestants, and a song performed by Bolton filled with clues about who the celebrity is, someone is chosen for the coveted date.

Is It Any Good?

Our review:
Parents say : Not yet rated
Kids say ( 1 ):

The light-hearted dating show is a fun, modern take on the 1965 series that was a TV staple throughout the 1970s and '80s. What sets this version apart is the celebrity angle, which allows for folks like Nicole Byer, Iggy Azalea, Taye Diggs, Carson Kressley, and Gabriel Iglesias to sit in the "hot seat" and pick a date who they think is right for them. The diversity of the celebrities and contestants, and the inclusion of the LGBTQ+ community, also makes it different from its predecessors. Nonetheless, from the theme song and classic decor, to the constant innuendo-filled banter and blown kisses, The Celebrity Dating Game is just as corny as the original, and it's this homage to the classic show that makes it fun.
