Our review:

Parents will appreciate the upbeat and gentle nature of this lively, warm, and well, fabulous show. The Fabulous Show with Fay and Fluffy's positive language and range of topics makes for a fun, feel-good watch for kids and parents alike. The hosts' approach to social-emotional learning is solid and while the show can address some intense themes (pet loss, etc), it's always tons of fun. The Fabulous Show's vibe can be encapsulated in each episode's closing line: "Be fabulous, bring joy and most importantly, bring the house down."

Talk to Your Kids About ...

  • Families can talk about the hosts, Fay and Fluffy. In "real life," they're a kindergarten teacher and cultural producer, respectively, but on the show, they're big and fabulous characters. In one episode, they broach the topic of how they may look unusual to some people but how comments about their appearances can affect them. How would unkind comments affect you?

  • In the episode, "I Can Use My Voice" the concept of equality versus equity is gently introduced to kids through puppets and cupcake distribution. What is the difference between the two things? Why does it matter?

  • In episode, "I Miss You" a young girl discusses the loss of a beloved family pet and how she copes with the pain she feels. Have you ever lost a pet? What did your family do?
