Very disturbing but a great show.
Not something for kids to watch at all. The whole show focuses on a serial killer in Belfast so clearly a lot of ideas are very disturbing and quite scary (especially as the killer focuses on his murders being quite sexually driven).
Fantastic performances but this is something you do need to be mature about when watching it.

Disturbing show
DO NOT let your kids OR teens watch this show. The Common sense media review does not reflect the violent and abhorrent nature of the show. Sure it is well produced and the acting is great but WTF were they thinking with the story line?! I have seen plenty of crime and violent shows but this is disturbing and frankly not worth my time. It is done as if to normalise this aweful way of violence - constantly showing the very violent rape-sex-aggresive-realistic-sick scenes right after or before the scenes of the killer having a normal family life with his kids. The worst of it is not the nudity, or the sexual material or even the killings. The worst is the merging of the normal with the sick. .. Giving the necklace of one of his victims to his daughter...Really?? Dont watch it.
Ps. and why is there no icon in the common sense media review for "too sick". Or something similar.

This show is not for kids
This is a gripping show with good twists, but this is not a show for kids. There are graphic scenes of violence against women and in the later season self harm, detailed descriptions of sadomasochistic sex acts, pedophilia, and more. The steaming app I watched the show on rated it as PG! It should be R.

Disturbing and violent
Not appropriate for kids, including teens. It is very violent, the story of a sexual sadist. A murdered woman is repeatedly shown naked in her bed. Another murdered woman is repeatedly shown naked and bound, stuffed in a closet. A third woman is shown being , bound to her bed, gagged and attacked. As an adult, it will stick with me for days.

It's fine for 13 and older
I think theirs too much sexual intentions and sex. But, 13 year olds and older kids know more about that stuff and don't care if they watch it. But, 12 year olds and younger, um not quite yet. But soon. Another thing is there is some inapproiate language in this show.

Nudity
I was shocked that no reviews mentioned the murdered woman in the very first episode being completely nude. I rely on review to give me a heads up on these things and that was completely left out. A lot of these shows are turning out like Dexter where every female murdered has to be nude. Not a fan.

Viewer beware, this is a disturbing show.
The review given by the website says older teens and adults could get “creeped out together” by this show. The review even described it as fairly non-violent. Watching women die, even if not in a Tarantino style, should still be considered violent. While it is very well produced I would not recommend this as casual viewing and if it were a movie I would expect it to be rated R. The sex scenes are juxtaposed with rape and violence, the main character’s dominance of her co-workers is compared with that of the sociopath, who is shown ritually murdering women and then returning home to bathe and feed his children. The story is deliberately disturbing and the series does not offer the viewer resolution at the conclusion of the season. The show is saturated with questions aimed at promoting relativism and the side-by-side shots of normal and abhorrent activities feels meant to cheapen human life and reduce all human actions to self-gratification. I found it overall a disturbing experience. Having been a fan of the Prime Suspect mini-series I gave this a try, but director of Prime Suspect's cinematic techniques were not used to promote a crass and cheap view of human life.

Watch more than the first episode CSM
This is a very well done show, and the acting is extremely good. However, it seems as though common sense media only watched the first episode, as, almost immediately in the second episode, there is a prolonged, semi graphic sex scene. It's fully clothed but still. None the less, mature fourteen year olds, can definitely handle the show.
