Swearing is a problem but this show is hilarious dont let a bad first impression fool ya

Ok I will admit I found this show hilarious I really did but the problem with this show is that it is marketed as a family show yet there is a ton of swearing I couldent really beleve the amount but if you. Are able to look past all that and some mild to extreme sexual jokes its a good show for family's I say 10 or older I would still admit I hate mother Goldberg but the rest of the family make up for her ps it's also a good way to show your kids how it was back then and Awsome family values. My entire family me 24 my sibs 10 thru 14 and my parents all watch this every week and love the laughs and time we take away from this Awsome family show as good as the middle " our 1 family. Favorite " if not better I can't suggest sting enough to try this show atleast once

Excellent and relevant

Despite focusing on a generation gone by, the theme of the show remains quite relevant -- family. It's not homogenized as one reviewer wants it to be. I not only grew up in the 80s, I grew up in the area where the show is set. Details are authentic, and for anyone with a family the interactions should all look familiar. Not that every dad refers to his kids as morons, but each family has its own unique interaction, and "The Goldbergs" captures theirs brilliantly. It's too bad others are so ultra-PC that they take issue when there is none (pedophilia? C'mon ...). I hope to be able to follow Adam and his family for an entire decade -- no matter which decade. A MUST WATCH! (My kids -- 14, 12 & 10 -- love the show and love to ask, "Was it really like that?", and "Did you ever do that?")

The Goldbergs is a terrific show. As a graduate of the school on which the show is based I find the show to be accurate and appropriate. It not only presents the culture found at the school and in the community at the time it also provides many ethical and moral lessons. Although many may find them unconventional, the moral lessons come through nicely through humor. What people need to understand is that the show is based on real life experiences of the creator. The school is progressive with the purpose of developing educated and independent individuals. To that affect, middle and high schoolers learn from being allowed to explore their individuality, taking risks, even failing at times - as long as one learns from such experiences. No longer do we live in The Victorian age. Therefore, children of today should be exposed to shows like The Goldbergs. Would you rather have your child learn curse words and about sexual situations in a void without a moral and/or ethical lesson. For example, if your child is on the bus and hears curse words or a story that is sexual in nature. No one is there to explain to them what the words actually mean or why they shouldn't say them. The Goldberg's may expose children to semi-lewd language and sexual situations but makes sure to provide and educational aspect as well.
