Kid reviews for The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special

It's a goofy but warm holiday romp that has drinking and some violence.

Compared to the actual movies, this one felt unnecessary and disappointing. It was effortless but I personally think it wasn’t worth it, the storyline is typical and the cast was out of character, overall the movie as a production wasn’t completely dreadful it just didn’t reach my expectations based on the excellence of the other Guardian Of The Galaxy productions though if you still find it appealing, you could see what you think but I would recommend passing on this one

Really funny

The song that plays at the beginning (I don’t know what Christmas is but Christmas time is here) is sung by aliens that have fourth-hand knowledge about Christmas. Most of the lyrics are references to violent things Santa, Mrs Clause and the Elves do at Christmas: “Soon the Elves will all rise up and stab out Santa’s eyes”, “But if you’re on his naughty list he shoots missiles at your toes”, “he might just roast your chestnuts with his powerful flamethrowers”. If you don’t want your child to be hearing things like this, maybe give the song a listen (it’s on Spotify and Apple Music) to see if it’s okay for your kids. But overall, this is the least violent Guardians of the Galaxy thing so far (as of February 2023).

boring and plot line was bad.

I loved this super fun special! It was entirely inconsequential, and was an extremely fun watch! It was absolutely hilarious! I couldn’t stop smiling the entire forty minutes! The characters are amazing, and the storyline was fun! There was very little violence, a bit of drinking (Mantis and Drax become drunk, but it is played for laughs), and some really sweet messaging. Overall, a truly fun special for the whole family to watch, regardless of what movies they’ve seen before.

This movie is not like other Guardians of the Galaxy movies; it’s a good family movie and a good way to get your holiday spirit on. There’s really not much that you have to worry about in this movie, just sit back and relax! It’s a mini, more family-friendly, funny movie with little action scenes and little violence.
