Dark but intriguing, lots of disturbing images

Overall: ‘The Irregulars’ is a darker sort of Sherlock Holmes mystery with a supernatural edge. This show is heaviest on violence, particularly gore—there are lots of gruesome, gory images in almost every episode, the worst ones in my opinion being in episode 4. As far as sex there's some suggestive talk and a few kisses but the worst part is a scenario discussed in episode 4. Language is fairly strong but not terrible. Drinking/drugs/smoking mainly involves one character who appears to be a drug and alcohol addict. Violence: 4/5 Some physical violence and lots of blood/gore and disturbing sights. Please do not watch this show if you have a weak stomach for gruesome, gory images!! A few examples (small spoilers)—in episode 1, crows peck out someone’s eyes and we see the bloody body. Episode 2, someone rips out children’s teeth in their sleep (we see their bloody, toothless mouths). Episode 3, members of a cult are murdered and their bodies put in the positions of people on tarot cards such as the inverted magician and 8 swords (bloody/gory). Episode 4, someone cuts people’s faces off, we see the faceless people (gory) and the faces themselves, both of which are creepy and disturbing. Episode 6, other people’s body parts are used to build a new human who looks creepy and demented. Episode 7, a man under mind control jumps off a balcony and kills himself. Episode 8, for a few seconds we see a man eating someone’s guts (disturbing), also a nun gets possessed and tries to kill people. Sex: 3/5 Some suggestive talk and a few kisses, and in episode 5 two teens have sex but we just see them passionately kiss in bed (clothed) before the scene cuts away. Later they have a short conversation about it. Also in episode 4 we learn that a young woman was raped and given syphilis (we see flashbacks but they’re just of men taking her into a bedroom and closing the door). Language: 3/5 Sh*t and other milder language can be heard from time to time, and there are one or two f-words. Drinking/Drugs/Smoking: 3/5 Some people drink/smoke, and one character appears to be addicted to alcohol and drugs. Positive Role Models and Messages: 3/5 The show features strong characters both male, female, black, and white, themes of friendship and perseverance. Shows that wealth doesn’t determine strength and value, as the main characters are very poor yet end up saving the day. Please Note: People of religion—in one episode tarot cards are a big part of the plot, and in another a nun goes mad after praying and saying “amen”. In general there are just some mild elements of possession, resurrection, cultism, and suggestive morals. It’s not like the show glorifies the devil or anything like that, just small things. People whose children still believe in the Tooth Fairy—we see a mom putting money under her kid’s pillow after the kid loses a tooth, so it may make children wonder (although I advise against letting children watch this).

Why though?

SussyBaka87 (SussyBaka88) signing in. Do the writers of The Social Network actually think bullying is funny, entertaining kids stuff? Because watching this show feels like the writers legit thought that while writing this. If you want to make your birds and raccoons here are the steps. First, make the writing and plot EXTREMELY LAZY. Then use the same animation style as Freddy Frogface. The plot is about a bird and a raccoon named Mardadye and Frisby sharing their lives and it's trash! The other characters hang out with them however, they act like jerks. Then make some insufferable comedy including saliva jokes, poop jokes, fart jokes and booger jokes. Then add in a mean-spirited layer that includes adults acting like children and bullying each other, especially Frisby's girlfriend, Ellen. Now you'd think THAT'S why Ellen is a bully right? Wrong. She was a bully before that. Anyways, the mean spirit also includes Ellen beating out of Frisby, Mardadye kidnaps a dog, locks a little boy in an abandoned building, Genman tying mouse against a windmill and a scarecrow (no one dies), and Mardadye blows his nose in a little girl's tissue. Also, Frisby s held at gunpoint! At least the acting is OK, but this show is terrible. Don't watch it! It's bad. Go watch Cartoon Network's Regular Show! This is way better than Social Network's Irregular Series. Note: The Social Network made more shows and I will review them.

Cool, but gets gory, bloody and very intense

(SPOILERS AHEAD!) Irregulars is a show about a group of teens that need money so they find a guy who offers them money if they solve different mysteries. So i will give you a rundown of all the episodes. Episode 1: violence: 3/5 this episode contains several scenes of big crows attacking the kids. The goriest part is when the girl named suzie gets her eyes pecked out and it shown the aftermath with lots of blood. Language: 3/5 the teens do swear with a few uses of sh*t but its nothing a kid dosent hear at school. Episode 2: Violence: 3/5 The spookiness is ramped up quite a bit because the episode is about a tooth fairy that rips out peoples teeth just to get revenge on somebody. The bloodiest part is when bea impales the head of the villain with a giant screw and it leaves a giant hole with blood oozing out. Language: 3/5 similar usage of swear words from the previous epidode but it does contin 1 use of fu*k. Epidode 3: Violence 4/5: A little more violent than previous episodes because it is a murder mystery and it is the bloodiest. Multiples shots of bodies being hung from the celing with swords impaled through their bodies. Perhaps the goriest shot in the one where the necks of two people were slit. Language 2/5: Less language than previous but still a few rare uses of sh*t. Episode 4 (the bloodiest) Violence 4/5: The story in this one is so much more disturbing than previous and the violence and gore is elevated. It is a girls who slices peoples faces off and puts it on her own to become that person. They only show glimpses of the face being cut off but they show the skull with no face and it is VERY gory and bloody. Epidode 7. this episode gets pretty intense especially at the end when the linen man makes guards commit suicide. Also the entire second half of the episode is actually pretty scary. Episode 8. This episode isint that bad aside from one 5 minute scene when the group is in the sewer and the linene man runs across the screen about 3 times in a minute startling me. After, the teens worst fears start happening and leo's is blood oozing out of his body everywhere, spike's is losing the person he loves the most, billy's is reliving his childhood, and the others were doing other stuff. Language 2.5/5 Not much to worry about compared to previous episodes. Drugs: 2/5 Leopold takes some pills from a girl and becomes dizzy. Also sherlock is an addict. There is some sex in the episodes but not nearly as bad as in most teen shows. In the end the irregulars is a cool show but keep in mind that it does get bloody and its not for younger kids. P.S. In the second epidode it shown the mom going to put the money under the pillow. so if kids still believe in the tooth fairy... good luck. Hope this helped!!!

pretty violent

there is pretty much nothing sexual in this show other than references there is also some language i only remember one f-bomb in the entire series. The show is pretty violent warning a kind of a spoiler but a girl gets her eyes eaten out by a bird it only shows the bird going onto her face and then it cuts to her dead body without here eyes. I recommend you to watch the first two episodes and if you can't handle the gore and bloody then this is not the show for you because as the episode goes on it will get more and more violent in episode 4 it shows a girl cutting off a persons face and it is pretty much mostly on screen and it happens multiple times in the episode in episode 3 it shows a lot of impalement. The show is great there is only sex references and nothing shown or happen kissing is really the only thing like that, the show has lots of gore as i've said and the show has minimal swearing

Ok, What?

I love Sherlock, which is on Netflix. I love Enola Holmes, again on Netflix. So when a new Holmes show ended up on Netflix, I figured, "What's the worst that could happen?" Welp. This is most definitely the most bizzare Sherlock Holmes property out there. At least in the first episode, Sherlock isn't even in it. I can't tell you if he was in any more, because I will not be watching any more. Let me just say that my qualms do not come from the cast, which is great, or from the drama, which is also great. Oh no. My problem comes with the guy who has magical bird powers, the girl who can touch people and read their minds, and the random Southern guy who shows up in a girl's dream for no apparent reason. Honestly, this show had potential. The Irregulars seem like a really interesting team, and they could have made a great addition to the Holmes properties on Netflix. But, honestly, what were they thinking? Sherlock has always had a tinge of supernatural about it, but it's always explained through science. I fail to see how any of this could be explained. I'm really just so confused.

Bit creepy but great

I loved this show but there were some creative scenes. The best way to describe this is when a woman gets her eyes scraped out by crows. Its weird but that's why its good. You have to give it a while though just because some of the episodes seem a bit too random but they arent.

The Irregulars...a supernatural mystery!

*WARNING* My review may contain spoilers! Read at your own risk. Violence & Gore - 4/5 As a 14-year-old, I was very apprehensive about The Irregulars. I’m not good with gore or violence so I was worried how bad it would be. I managed to make it through all 8 episodes, and I think only episodes 1-4 are the worst, and after that it’s mainly just plot. In episode 1, there is a depiction of a woman (now a corpse) and her eyes have been pecked out by ravens, however it appears offscreen. In episode 2, it’s all about an evil dentist who removes people’s teeth to grow clones in order to get revenge. In episode 3, a man is murdered and staged to show a tarot card, the inverted magician. Finally, in episode 4, a woman has the ability to skin people’s faces and wear them, and transform into them. I was okay with it, I just had to keep reminding myself that it was fake. I think the violence is quite bad and should only be shown to teens, however you know your kids best! Alcohol & Drugs - 3/5 Sherlock Holmes is a drug addict, and cannot function without drugs. Some characters drink alcohol, but never heavily. The workhouse owner is an alcoholic. Language - 4/5 Lots of uses of sh*t, fu*k, bloody, damn etc. Sex - 3/5 It is implied that one of the characters, Leo, fantasises about another character, Beatrice. They kiss a couple of times, and eventually end up having sex, however it is offscreen. Role models - 4/5 Beatrice is a perfect example of someone who shouldn’t be judged because of their financial background. She proves that it doesn’t matter how much money you have, you can still be smart and achieve big things. Final thoughts - 4/5 The Irregulars is a really great series, that has something for everyone. It’s a great show for any Stranger Things, Sherlock Holmes or Supernatural fans. I think it should only be watched by those 14 + as there are some mature themes that younger viewers may find uncomfortable or scary. However, you know your own kids and what they can handle. A more in depth guide is on IMDB, which can be really helpful to find all the nitty-gritty details on the gore, sex, language etc. Hope this helped!

It is a fine show

I think this show is good. I like all charctors and stuff but whatever. This show has a lot of violance but as long as u dont mind blood and stuff it shouldnt be to bad (sometime its creepy tho). There is curse words but kids prrbably heard them all. As for sex they talk about it and one girl gets an std from it and they talk about [email protected] but yeah. I think Bea is a great charctor who is very strong minded. Also I think most ppl over the age of 13 should be fine with this. They probably know about all things talked about in the show.

Do not let your kids watch

This show seems kid friendly and fun for the whole family. It’s not. The show has sex, gore, and language. Bea and Leo kiss passionately and roll on the floor. They also talk about “shenanigans” and there’s a lot of bare butts. With gore and violence you see a woman cut a mans face and place it on her own face and then you see the man without a face. There’s a part where a woman is eaten alive by crows and you see the remains of her body on the ground. A woman also cuts body parts off people and adds them to her husband to re-build him? And you see kids and adults without teeth. And a lot of language including “d*mn and p*ss

Pretty good for the right audience

If you like horror, and a few jumpscares, this show is good for you. if you are easily scarred by blood, not so mutch. there are a few scenes, where you think something relating to intercourse is going to happen, when nothing at all happens, so dont worry. there's the occasional swear words in the review, but there's also wanker in one part, muttered by someone in the crowd of people.
