One of the exciting things about documentaries is that anything can happen, but also nothing can happen, which is unfortunately the case for this series. In The Long Game Makur Maker himself is congenial but not necessarily compelling, and the documentary leans into the less interesting aspects of his life -- even before COVID and injuries prevent him from taking the court.

Talk to Your Kids About ...

  • Families can talk about Maker's journey to the NBA. What unique skills does he have? What challenges does he face?

  • Why did Maker choose to enroll at Howard? Why was this a risky choice? How does it appear to affect his career?
