The Punisher: One Last Kill
What's the Story?
In THE PUNISHER: ONE LAST KILL, Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) has killed the last of the Gnucci family. He's finally tied up every connection to the forces behind his family's death. As New York City descends into violent chaos, Frank internally battles with the finality of completing his life mission. Is there a purpose for Frank outside of vengeance? He may have completed his mission, but will a loose end drag him back into the underworld?
Is It Any Good?
Jon Bernthal always guarantees a stellar, haunting, and complex portrayal of Frank Castle. He embodies the brutality of The Punisher (now in an even more volatile, brittle emotional state) expertly. Though brief, The Punisher: One Last Kill is an intriguing preview of Frank struggling to chart a course—will he find a new purpose or slip into his old skin? This is definitely not for pre-teens, and parents should mind the intense violence, strong language, drinking, and sexual content.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about violence in The Punisher: One Last Kill. Do you think the amount of violence was necessary for this special? How does it compare to violence in The Punisher series, or other superhero shows? What is the impact of media violence on kids?
How does this special portray Frank Castle at this point in his journey? How does the state of the city reflect his internal state? How does Frank go about helping people? Do you think the goal justifies the means, no matter how wrong (or violent) they are?
