What's the Story?

In THE TESTAMENTS, teenager Agnes is the daughter of a high-ranking government official in the republic of Gilead, where women have been stripped of rights. She goes to a special school, Aunt Lydia's, where she learns how to be a submissive wife and other "womanly" tasks like embroidery and music. When Agnes is assigned to monitor a new student, Daisy, suspicions arise. Can she take Daisy at her word? Or is she the key to another world?

This excellent series gives a glimpse into the dark world where Gilead girls are trained to become Gilead women. The Testaments has an outstanding young cast, including its lead, Chase Infiniti, and each moment at Aunt Lydia's school is fraught with tension. With direct ties to The Handmaid's Tale and its characters, it will be interesting to see how this series' story develops, but it's guaranteed to be equally dystopian.
