What's the Story?
Set against the stunning backdrop of Mauritius, TRAINER GAMES features 10 elite fitness competitors, who take on brutal mental and physical challenges for a chance to win a $250,000 contract as an iFit trainer. Guided by three current iFit pros, the show tests not only athletic strength but also character, leadership, and empathy.
Is It Any Good?
This series serves up an adrenaline-filled, often emotionally charged, blend of action, inspiration, and corporate branding. The exotic locations and personal stories of Trainer Games are enticing, but its glossy finish and built-in iFit marketing pitch is heavy-handed. Still, the genuine emotion and physical stakes elevate the show above your average branded competition series, especially as contestants open up about their fears, past traumas, and reasons for competing. The series may not be as heartfelt as The Amazing Race or as wild as Survivor, but it finds a compelling middle ground for fitness-focused viewers as well as those who enjoy extreme sports.
