The rating is a lie on prime video

When I watch movies I always look at the rating because of my children. If I had actually watched this with my children present I would have been pissed. The rating on the prime video app for this show only says 16+ foul language and violence. The very first episode had a sex scene where no body parts show but it was obvious what was going on and another set scene that shows a woman on top humping while the side of her body and breast show. It is horrible that prime video did not add sexual content. Therefore the rating is extremely misleading. I am giving this review as too much sex only because it does not notify you of this in the advisory.

Thought-provoking but not for kids

This would be a fun, discussion-provoking show for families with older children to watch together BUT for the totally unnecessary visuals of explicit sex. I would say, moments of this show would qualify as pornography.

EXTREMELY vulgar

The idea is really interesting, and it has some funny moments, but it is really over the top inappropriate, before even the first episode is finished there are multiple sex scenes and a LOT of cursing. Besides outright nudity there's a lot of really suggestive language. Honestly would not recommend it to anyone, very vulgar.

Not a kid's show

CSM suggests ages 16+ for this show however, this show shouldn't be viewed by anyone under 18 due to sexual content and vulgarity.

Unnecessary gratuitous sex scenes.

I was looking forward to this show by Greg Daniels so much because I am a huge fan of SNL and The Office, but was so disappointed to see the gratuitous full-on sex scenes. What's up Greg??? Your writing does not need this. Thing is I am a mom who looks for shows that my son and I can watch together. We watch SNL and The Office together. I don't mind swearing, action violence, drinking, or smoking or even topless shots. Boobs, who cares they're just boobs (for example, we watched Die Hard.) Even though he is 19 and we have no problem discussing sex in the appropriate parent/child context, there is no way we would feel comfortable watching a sex scene together. Otherwise, I love it. So, for me, this was a disappointment. Oh well.

None of these writers can have an original thought, so they read WAPO headlines for plot line ideas.

Typical Amazon....this show has potential, but falls into every woke trap you can think of. Evil old white dude is trying to disenfranchise minority voters. Wow! Saw that one coming from 10,000 miles. The only religious people left in this "utopia" are crazy, controlling, men. Shocked, I tell you. Originality is lost. Don't waste your time on this one.

Fun. Not for kids.

The show examines the intrusiveness of retail advertising and the pitfalls of control or influence by both big tech and consumer goods companies. There is a fair amount of sexual content, but rather than pornographic, the show uses it as a platform to exemplify consent, healthy boundaries, and open conversation with both positive and negative examples - the show makes no mystery of what it considers a negative example. The show explores both the dichotomy and a mutual respect between an agnostic, techy philosophy and a religious concept of death without taking sides. The protagonists are flawed, but demonstrate introspection with fair examination of motives and feelings. This is not for kids due to content, but passes as a sweet romance supported by a murder mystery and witty social commentary.

Not for kids.

Hubby and I binge watched it. It's clever, romantic, and amusing, but we seriously fast forwarded multiple scenes of sex and nudity. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone under 21, which is sad as when it's not highly offensive, it's really fun.

Upload! Gets better and better as you go along

I didn't have high expectations for yet another afterlife series. The characters are compelling and the premise of having an eternal afterlife that you have some control over was novel. So what the heck, I gave it a try. The actors are good and those with the most flawed characters get to strut their stuff. For instance...Ingrid!! For an actress with model looks she is nuanced and hilarious. I can just imagine what fun she has in that role. Oh, did I mention--it's also a murder mystery? Yes, that too. It's light, creative, funny and very human. I now have to wait for season 2. It's definitely too racy for kids under 16 as there is sex, talk about sex and body parts...and there is "language" (ample f-bombs). Maybe watch an episode or two before you decide if your teens can watch.
