What's the Story?
VANISHED starts off with archaeologist Alice Monroe (Kaley Cuoco) and boyfriend Tom (Sam Claflin) heading off to vacation in France. On a train ride to Arles, Tom disappears, along with his passport. Would Tom just ditch their four-year relationship out of the blue? Without police help, Alice uses her archaeologist skills to uncover a trail leading her to believe that Tom has been kidnapped. But the more she digs, the bigger her seeds of doubt grow about who Tom really is.
Is It Any Good?
This series has mild chemistry and a lukewarm mystery. Vanished might have some exciting elements sprinkled throughout, but overall it's standard for the genre. Cuoco's performance is solid, but viewers looking for their thriller fix might look elsewhere. The violence, language, and sexual content is suitable for older teens.
