What's the Story?

It's 1973, and DAWN Longchamp (Brec Bassinger) just moved to Virginia with her family. This is their third move, but her father promises this move will be different. Soon Dawn has friends, a crush, and a solo in the school's recital. Aside from a new enemy, Dawn's new beginnings aren't half bad. But when her parents are arrested for kidnapping her from a rich family, Dawn's whole life is pulled from under her.

Soon she's moving into the powerful Cutler family, who owns the hotel in town. Dawn gets to taste none of this power since matriarch Lillian Cutler (Donna Mills) despises her. Dawn struggles to make sense of her kidnapping while fending off the Cutlers that want her gone. How will Dawn survive yet another new beginning?

Is It Any Good?

Our review:
Parents say ( 1 ):
Kids say : Not yet rated

This series is a solid attempt at a book adaptation. Dawn has an intriguing narrative that suffers from pacing issues. There are some promising storylines, but it's interrupted by time jumps and jerky character development. The language, violence, and emphasis on romance (including incestuous relationships) make this an iffy watch for younger viewers.
