A Lot or a Little?
The parents' guide to what's in this TV show.
What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Who Do You Believe? is a true crime series that features individuals from both sides of a crime discussing what happened from their points of view. Conversations about criminal behavior, ranging from bigamy to violent crimes like attempted murder, are offered with a significant amount of detail. There's some sexual innuendo and strong language (with the strongest words bleeped). Illegal drug dealing and abuse is also discussed.

What's the Story?
WHO DO YOU BELIEVE? is a series that features a true crime story being told from the point of view of people on both sides of the crime. With the help of split screens, two individuals on opposing sides of the story are interviewed side by side. Throughout their narration of events, reenactments are used to highlight key moments. At the end of the episode, viewers must come to their own conclusions about who is telling the truth about what happened.
Is It Any Good?
The exploitative true crime series features people offering separate, and usually contradictory, accounts of misdeeds that were committed, and their individual roles in it. Not surprisingly, what the individuals have to say about one another isn't very good. Meanwhile, despite the fact that most of the the misdeeds being discussed have been resolved by the criminal justice system, Who Do You Believe? encourages viewers to continue speculating about which person is being honest, or at a minimum, whose story is more legitimate, until the very end. The overall result is a series that doesn't seem to have much purpose outside of being petty.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about the way people can share the same experience, but have very different ideas about what actually transpired. Is someone who interprets an event differently from others who were also present automatically lying?
Does appearing on Who Do You Believe? offer any benefit to those on the series? Why do you think they agree to participate in this program?
