What's the Story?
WISH LIST GAMES is a lively game show hosted by Nick Cannon and Lele Pons, where three contestants compete to win up to $25,000 worth of items from their Amazon wish lists. At the end of each episode, one audience member is selected to play a final challenge, with their victory resulting in a big prize for everyone in the audience.
Is It Any Good?
This series delivers family-friendly challenges, with physical tasks like building life-size Jenga towers out of Amazon boxes. Heartwarming moments are also common in Wish List Games as contestants win meaningful prizes such as engagement rings or tools for small businesses. However, the pervasive Amazon branding makes it feel more like an advertisement than a traditional game show and glorifies consumerism to an extreme extent.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about the role of consumerism in entertainment and how companies integrate branding into shows like this.
Some of the contestants on the show can open up conversations about generosity and what motivates people to prioritize others over themselves.
